چکیده
The research was conducted with the aim of examining alkaloids content twelve poppies (Papaver somniferum L.) cultivars registered in Turkey by correlation and path analysis relationships among capsule yield. field experiments were set up according to a randomized complete block design three replications 2017-18 2018-19 under semi-arid ecological conditions Isparta, Turkey. differences yields alkaloid contents poppy varieties statistically significant (P≤0.01) both periods, determined be between 253.4-556.2 kg ha-1 first year 332.7-659.2 second year. morphine, codeine, oripavine, thebaine, papaverine, noscapine varied 0.46-1.84%, 0.08-0.30%, 0.009-0.057%, 0.031-0.093%, 0.002-0.047% 0.017-0.094%, respectively. According analysis, morphine codeine (r=0.415*), oripavine (r=0.362*), papaverine (r=0.624**) positive while (r=0.164ns) thebaine (r=0.043ns) insignificant positive. In coefficient (p=0.631, 67.75%) had highest direct effect on followed orpavine, noscapine, Noscapine indirect via negative high effects papaverine. study, that could recommended for TMO-1 TMO-3 due higher Ofis-1 variety content.

Studying Morphine Biosynthesis Using Transgenic Opium Poppy (Papaver somniferum L.)
Opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) produces a large variety of isoquinoline alkaloids. The aim of this investigation is to understand the regulation of biosynthesis and the ecological function of the alkaloids in the plant. Agrobacterium-mediated transformations of opium poppy were used to introduce the berberine bridge enzyme cDNA bbe 1 in the antisense orientation into seedling explants. Aft...
متن کاملThe floral androcarpel organ (ACO) mutation permits high alkaloid yields in opium poppy Papaver somniferum
Isolation of a recessive aco (androcarpel organ) mutation in opium poppy Papaver somniferum, is described. The aco (aco aco) mutant plants form androcarpels in place of inner whorl stamens in their flowers. The abnormal flowers are self-fertile, as stamens in the outer whorl are normal. In aco mutant the calyx, corolla and syncarpous gynoecium are formed like in the wild type ACO plants. The an...
متن کاملMolecular Characterization of Opium Poppy (Papaver somniferum) Germplasm
Problem statement: The medicinal value of opium poppy (2n = 22, Papaver somniferum L.) is due to presence of more than two dozen alkaloids. The genetic origin and diversity of cultivars used in the breeding collection is not fully known. To evaluate the genetic diversity of the 24 germplasm currently cultivated in the state to provide genetic information about heterogeneity, using RAPD and ISSR...

Four single crosses (VG20 x SGE48, SGE48 x SG35II, VG26 x SG35II, and SG35II x VG20) in opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.) were analyzed to study the gene actions involved in the inheritance of quantitative traits, namely plant height, branches/plant, capsules/plant, peduncle length, capsule index, stigmatic rays, straw yield/plant, and morphine content. Simple additive, dominance, and epistat...
متن کاملRelations among alkaloids, cadmium and zinc contents in opium poppy (Papaver somniferum L.)
The effort of this work was to prove whether there exists any relation between stress factors caused by content of cadmium and zinc, and content and composition of opium alkaloids codeine, morphine, narcotine (noscapine) and papaverine contained in poppy seeds and capsules (Papaver somniferum L.) in 14 samples of 8 varieties cultivated in 8 localities in 2003.
